Also curious about what SWIM is.

All that past drug use could hurt you big time if you plan on being 100% honest about it.  Especially since you've only been "clean" for a year.

SWIM has wanted to be a police officer their entire life. however, like many kids SWIM went through a rebelious phase as a teen. MJ a few times ( never really liked the stuff) used to buy adderall from a friend for highschool football games.  pain killers 4-5 times. main problem was xanax, took it at night to help sleep but was never addicted or had huge problem. only hard drug is coke. but only used 2 times. was going to try E took a small bite of pill then spit it out because cause  SWIM knew they shouldnt. Swim has been clean for a year or so and is still completing college (slowely) so probably wont apply to a department for at least another 3-4 years. SWIMs mother has been an officer for30+ years will being a legacy help? obviously SWIM will not try to lie on the poly and will be completly honest but will making a few bad choices as a teen disqualify SWIM from their dream job? Because other than that SWIM is a great canidate Menttally and physically. with many skills that fit the "police officer" roll...sorry for bad spelling!
