greywolf48,

No, your father should not have taken the polygraph. Even if he didn't have a pacemaker, and even if he wasn't taking heart medications, he should not have taken the polygraph.

Polygraphy is a pseudoscientific fraud. It has no validity and depends on the polygraph operator lying to and deceiving the person being "tested." As used in criminal investigations, it's little more than a pretext for interrogating a suspect without a lawyer present.

For a thorough debunking of polygraphy, see Chapter 1 of The Lie Behind the Lie Detector and the sources cited there.

All I ask is someone please help. An innocent man is accused of something he never did.

My dad was accused of molesting my, then four year old, by my oldest son, who was angry at me for not giving him the last of the food in my house to feed his own family. A little background there... Social Services came at night and picked up my two littlest ones, and took them away. I return my dad was put on a poly machine and questioned about it. The outcome was good so the Officer told us, but later reported differently to SS. My dad has a pacemaker and takes bp meds and two other heart meds. I know he is innocent and have set out to prove it. So with this said.... Should he have taken the poly?
