Yes, this has happened on two occasions I know of, where automated spamming scripts posted numerous public posts as well as personal messages to forum members. I promptly deleted the public posts, but the forum software unfortunately has no mechanism for deleting them from registered users' in-boxes.

I found SEVEN spam messages in my in-box today (mostly offers of watches for sale).
Is anyone else receiving this garbage in their incoming e-mail? :o
