You have consistently raised a semantic distinction which I believe does not exist. Although I believe you and I share certain beliefs and goals which I believe to be correct and honorable, I do believe I should reply to this issue which follows my last post and may well be directed to me.
You indicate that you do not teach the application of polygraph countermeausres, but teach your clientele how to produce truthful charts. Again, I believe you are wrong.
A truthful chart is the desired outcome (for both you and your clientele) of what you teach, but is not the method by which it is obtained. This method is clearly your chosen form of chart manipulation. Polygraph operators, academicians in general, David Lykken, Bill Iacono (Lykken's most famous student and leading academic opponent of lie detection methods), George Maschke, I, and most others involved in any manner all refer to this chart manipulation as a countermeasure(s) application.
Aside from being wrong in the distinction you wish to draw, I believe you add nothing to your position in its making.
I believe that you should simply take pride in your effort to end the horror of lie detection by making it so untenable, unusable, laughable, etc. in the eyes of all (examinees, examiners, executive bosses, the public, the media, etc) through your efforts with countermeasures, that polygraphic lie detection will be only a bad memory and an instrumental paradigm relegated to the dust bin of history...

I agree with you completely--a combination of breathing/respiratory and mental countermeasures are both the easiest to learn and apply, and thereby would generally be expected to produce the most effective approach and successful outcome. This combination (individually and collectively) would also be the most difficult to counter-coutermeasure.
Because the electrodermal and respiratory centers are adjacent in the Medulla oblongata (lower brainstem), one gets a freebie, if you will, through the aforementioned combination--one also affects the electrodermal tracing in a productive manner with no additional effort and necessary instruction...
After considering the state of countermeasure discussion over the last decade or so, the lack of response to my countermeasure challenge, and the recent plight of those who have sought to develop a commercial business and clientele of customers seeking countermeasure instruction, I believe new direction is needed.
I have never been comfortable with the aforementioned commercial business approach and have realized the potential pitfalls that others may have fallen into, but nevertheless have hoped that the different (from my own) methods of others might lead to a common goal--the end of lie detection as we know it and its associated outcomes: the weakening of our national security and the victimization of countless numbers of our fellow citizens.
I have decided that in 2015 I will take a different but more active role than I have previously assumed in this effort.
I intend to produce a video which I will disseminate free of charge through this site and You Tube etc. and which will be designed to accomplish the following:
(1) Describe all aspects of lie detection and the current lie detector "test" in a manner which can be understood by a child but sufficient to effectively countermeasure the current test paradigm and instrumentation,
(2) Provide methodology (no polygraph instrument needed) with no to minimal financial cost to the student via the use of that which is already available to that student--(a) a home mirror in which that student can monitor his or her breathing and (b) that student's hand which can be moved up and down as the student inhales and exhales and viewed in the mirror and which will assist said student in the production of desired respiratory countermeasures (publicly available scorable breathing responses)
3) and through an elaboration of the aforementioned provide a fairly unlimited no-cost period of instruction with self-assessment exercises provided
Although I hope to have a large audience for said instruction, I will have no identifiable (to me or others) clientele for that which I will provide and will provide no answers to individual questions beyond that which will hopefully be intrinsically answered through the instruction itself.
This instruction will be designed to be not only effective but also composed entirely of constitutionally protected free speech.
I welcome any ideas about the general goals and plan, videography used for instruction, about media dissemination, legal issues, etc.
