It is impossible for you to detect countermeasures. No pressure pad, gimmick, or fake test can detect an internal reaction from a self-generated adrenalin rush. A little excitement to drive up the response to control questions is all it takes.

Drugs aren't the answer

You need to learn how to control your breathing and augment your responses to control questions. Read "The Lie Behind the Lie Detector" and you will learn exactly what you need to know to pass the polygraph test.

You may want to read the post by bildobaggins in another thread Chuckles.  He did what you suggest and was inconclusive on the examination.

For the record, I am a polygraph examiner, and havw not hidden that in any post.

I was not asked about the drugs I have been taking when I took my post-conviction polygraph exams and they did not do a drug test. I assume that you are technically prohibited from taking any controlled drugs that are not prescribed to you, but anything that you are allowed to take in general is not prohibited on test day.

I have heard people say that taking certain drugs helps to stay calm for the polygraph, but in my opinion no drugs are necessary.
