I will pass this on to him. He really wanted the intel field. I am doing what I can to discourage his interest in further government service and to look at private contractors. He's an intelligent lad and has to live with his decisions.

- Nov 28, 2010, 11:03 AMThere is one agency in the intelligence community that does not subject employees to polygraph screening: the State Department's Bureau of Intelligence and Research.
Given your grandson-in-law's background, he might also consider other areas of public service, for example the Department of Health and Human Services, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, or the U.S. Agency for International Development.

My Grandson-in-law is in the Army stationed in Korea. He completed preventive medicine school in San Antonio and now works as a specialist in that field. As you probably know that field entails the testing of water, soil, food, etc. He also has a TS SCI clearence for Intel field. He was thinking of a career in the Army but they have screwed him around so much he will leave at the end of his enlistment. He has a college education but has been refused OCS which was promised him on enlistment. Korea is not the place to question Army policy or promises. He has done this a couple of times (to JAG) at my insistance and now he gets shit details. His wife and 3 kids were alowed to be with him there and they are affected by this also. I will now put away the tear towl and get to the point. He would like to put out feelers as to possibilities of future employment. His preference is one of the Intel agencies. I am thoroghly cautioning against that because of the idiot polygraph which could ruin him. This dude is squeeky clean which along with 3 dollars will get you a cup at starbucks when it comes to the poly. My preference for him would be to apply to government contractors. That carries a poly requirement also but may not be as much of a burden on future employment. Any suggestions?
