All,

I started working for the federal government when I was in college as an co-op student.  I had my investigation at that time for a Confidential clearance.  I started full-time after college 3 years later and was granted a Secret clearance.  I still have 3 years on my Secret but was contacted by my Security Office indicating that my E-QIP has been initiated.

Is there a way to inquire about this and have it postponed?  I am at a point now that I don't think my current job is making good use of my skill and I am not contributing to my country that way I wanted.  Therefore, I am trying to switch career.  Additionally, I got married to an non-US citizen who still own properties oversea.  I think this could hurt my clearance.  I am looking for jobs that doesn't require clearance but still with the federal government.  Can I request a correction in JPAS to push the date back.
