Top Secret clearance holds no weight in a Lie Detector test for the FBI.

Caleb,

To the best of my knowledge, your two inconclusive results with the FBI should not be a bar to future FBI employment. However, as I first stated back in 2003, I think that FBI pre-employment polygraph screening is a risk not worth taking. The fact that you presently hold a TS clearance will not vaccinate you against the risk of a false positive (and note that the FBI pre-employment polygraph failure rate is on the order of 50%). Failing an FBI polygraph will not only preclude you from FBI employment for life: it may also adversely affect your ability to continue holding a security clearance with other agencies.

Hi, 3 years ago I applied to an FBI internship. I was accepted into the internship but was told I would have to take a polygraph. I took the polygraph 2 times, both were ruled inconclusive. I also had the same examiner for both polygraphs. I now work for a defense contractor and have a top secret clearance with the government. Could I apply to become an FBI special agent in the next few years or would the polygraph be held against me? Would the TS clearance help in my application process? Thanks
