To anyone taking one: Read The Lie Behind The Lie Detector, then go to this site:   http://thepiratebay.org and type 'polygraph secrets' into the search bar. Download the torrent and use utorrent to pull it off the dbase.

Then, confidently go forth into your 'polygraph examination' and 'pass' it.

BE AWARE:
1.  You will burn through the polygrapher's arsenal of bullshit in about 2 seconds flat, at which point the polygrapher is likely to accuse you of all sorts of things, not the least of which is using countermeasures.
2.  Stick to your guns. After reading the above, the whole thing will feel like a script and you'll feel like you're in control. Don't confess or let the jackass polygrapher get to you.
3.  Contrary to popular belief, you DO NOT HAVE TO BE CALM TO PASS A POLYGRAPH. If you're like me and a natural nervous wreck during tests, don't worry about it. Let your heart beat off the wall, be as nervous as you want. Passing these asinine tests is all about consistency, not calmness.

There. Hope that helps someone.

Thank you, George, and antipolygraph for all the help - no way I was passing this thing without it.

This time when I told the truth, it was believed.

Your mention of the procedure being scripted reminded me of the experience of my FBI polograph.  The polographer was briefing me beforehand of how the procedure worked and from what I remember, it sounded like he had memorized the whole spiel and was reading from a teleprompter.
