This wednesday, the History Channel is airing an episode of "Monster Quest", in which a polygrapher is going to ?test? the veracity of people who claim to have been seen UFOs and Werewolves.  I'm going to wear my Colander hat for that one!!

I've always thought there were UFOs/werewolves.  Now it will be scientifically proven or disproven with 98% accuracy!!!!!

I just wish Lon Cheney was alive to watch it!

I've been keeping news of this upcoming episode under my hat, but the cat is clearly now out of the bag. I see that more than a month ago Penn twittered:

Quote: I'm sitting down to do another draft of the Bullshit of Lie Detectors. I've found a way to get naked people in, so I'm doing well. 7:56 PM Jan 4th from web

As I wrote in my earlier post, I expect the episode to be entertaining. I encourage all to watch, and when a broadcast date is announced, you can be sure we'll post the news prominently on AntiPolygraph.org.

From Penn Jillette's Twitter feed:

Quote: On the set of Bullshit. French is done -naked woman strapped to a lie-detector and tortured. Teller, liar liar, with his pants on fire. 5:38 PM Feb 12th from web

QuoteI believe a show on this subject would be a decent way to raise public awareness.

Thoughts?

I'm a longtime Penn & Teller fan, and I agree that a Penn & Teller Bullshit! episode on lie detectors would be an excellent way of informing the public in an entertaining way. Polygraphy is, after all, as the late George Carlin might have said, Grade A, prime cut, pure American bullshit.

There is an episode on BULLSHIT coming up this April/March about lie detectors. Me and this girl, Gabrielle from "BRING IT ON 5" are in it. Its pretty cool, my first episode and appearance on National Tv.  So Watch your local SHOWTIME for more information about the EPISODE.... Which was taped in or around AUGUST in BURBANK, CA 2008!

Hope you all watch the show!!!! For more info about me or IF YOU SEEN the show and want to comment on my REALITY SHOW DEBUT, hit me up @ www.MYSPACE.com/BillyJoeBrewerIII or www.BREWER3s.com

Penn and Teller have been hosting a show called Bullshit on Showtime for some time now.

http://www.sho.com/site/ptbs/home.do

There have been many episodes on controversial subjects and many episodes have revealed some very interesting information.

I think Antipolygraph.org should contact the show with information on the failings of all "lie detection" technology (the polygraph, voice analysis, eye access cues, etc.) and the harm misplaced faith in it has caused and continues to cause. All the juicy stuff should be revealed - the FBI's 50% polygraph failure rate, the blacklisting that occurs, the phony degree holders, the fake science involved, etc. Pull out all the stops.

I believe a show on this subject would be a decent way to raise public awareness.
