Hello,

I was recently disqualified from a civilian position at a police department in California.

I have strong belief that I was disqualified because I failed all relevant questions on the CVSA (no, I was not lying) however, I am beginning to question whether my past drug usage could have played a role.  A couple of weeks prior to the lie detector I underwent a 2 hour interrogation.  During this "interview" all of my skeletons were discussed and I was truthful.  I have tried cocaine only a couple of times and have smoked marijuana on a irregular basis between the ages of 17-22.  Years have past so I assumed I was in the clear, not to mention I applied for a position that does not require carrying a gun or enforcing the law.  I'm wondering if anyone can provide any information on drug policy for those who are civilian employees at a city PD.  Prior to this I worked at a city PD and admitted to my past and I was still hired.  That being said, the PD I was employed at before never administered any kind of lie detector test.

Any info would help
