George purports that CMs work, but fails to mention that most that are taking the polygraph have no experience with trying to employ CMs.  If you are being truthful, there is no need to employ any "so called" CMs.  Remember, a lot of things "work".  I think even AMWAY "works" but there are only a few people in the world getting rich from it.

You're missing the point supertim.  If it is possible to fool a "scientific test" such as the polygraph, then it is not a reliable device.

And your right... you're just as likely to get a reliable answer from a polygraph as you are to become a Diamond Direct in AMWAY.

Polygraphs lie.  On more than one occasion, I have failed while telling the absolute truth.  Countermeasures really work!  I have passed several polygraphs using CMs, and I was actively lying about a minor probation infraction on one of them.

Caught:

First you post and say you are tired of failing your poygraph exams and being called a liar, now you say here that you always pass "with flying colors".

Or they tried and were caught...

You feel "lucky?" 8)

Nonombre,

Were they truly caught or was the examiner, in your words,  just "quite sure" they were using cms? There's a big difference between "quite sure" and solid proof.

Quote from: George W. Maschke on Mar 06, 2006, 06:22 PMYes, countermeasures work. For documentation, see Chapter 4 of The Lie Behind the Lie Detector and the sources cited there.

As for the paucity of posts by countermeasure users, it stands to reason that most people who successfully employ countermeasures, especially those in post-conviction polygraph programs, would be prudent enough not to comment about it in a public forum such as this one.
