If I'm not mistaken, CIA officers are not "special agents" in the sense that federal law enforcement officers are. While I'm not sure when polygraph screening became a general requirement for CIA employees, the CIA polygraph program was set up in 1948 by Cleve Backster (who didn't stay long).

Can anyone fill in the first year that the poly was used for the following Special Agent positions:

DEA:
USSS:
CIA:

I know the following were the first years that the poly was used by the FBI and ATF for Special Agent positions:

FBI- 1994
ATF- 2001
