Then the employer may well be in violation of the Employee Polygraph Protection Act. You'll find the text of this law here:

No there is no contract. I think the guy that owns it is very paranoid.

If the job involves a contract for a federal agency that requires polygraph screening, then you might indeed be legally required to submit to a pre-employment polygraph examination for it.

Here is my problem...I think I may have to take a poly test for a pre employment screening. This job is not for a government position; it's for a wholesale company.  Is it legal for a private company to give Polygraph tests? Can I decline to take the test and still be hired?  Also, I would like to know if anyone has used the techniques in the book, and if they worked for you?
