I am a person of honesty and integrity and my folks always told me that I can never go wrong with the truth.  In most cases they are right, but not in becoming a LEO.  What a bunch of bullshit.  This local PD told me prior to all this that they aren't looking for "saints" and everybody has had problems.  All I know is, the people they chose over me must be Mother Theresa and are perfect.
