The goal of CIA polygraphers is to interrogate you to elicit disqualifying admissions. They will employ various techniques to build rapport and gain your trust to achieve this. Once they gain your trust, you would be more inclined to share conduct you have committed in your private life, which could be disqualifying. One technique they use is flattery. They will tell you that you are highly intelligent, qualified, and skilled and that the CIA desperately wants to employ you. However, they will say the only hurdle is to be transparent with them and tell them whatever you are withholding is causing those physiological reactions on the polygraph chart and keeping you from successfully passing. Do not fall for this manipulative trap. Do not fall into flattery. Remember, their goal is to elicit disqualifying admissions from you. All the talk about the CIA highly coveting your skills and wanting you on board is a means of building rapport, so you will be more inclined to confess.
