As reported on the blog, in a recent presentation to a group of law students, a polygraph operator for the U.S. Department of Defense (likely NSA) stated that post-Edward Snowden, the number of polygraph screenings conducted annually by DoD had tripled. From May 2010 to April 2011, DoD conducted over 43,000 polygraph screenings.
