RE: FOIA #070-21(2)

Dear Mr. Maschke:

This correspondence is in reference to your request dated April 7, 2001 and received in this office via facsimile April 9, 2001. Your request was processed in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 5 United States Code 552.

In your request, you asked to receive a copy of the DoD Polygraph Institute General Question Technique (GQT).

A check of the available indices within DoDPI, revealed that no copies of GQT from 1995 exist. The GQT is no longer used by DoDPI or its instructors. It's been estimated that the GQT was last utilized in approximately early 1997.

Should you deem this "no record" response to be an adverse determination, you may appeal this finding by offering justification to support an additional search effort by writing to: Director, DSS, FOIA Appeal, 1340 Braddock Place, Alexandria, Virginia 22314-1651. Any such appeal should be postmarked within 60 calendar days of the date above to this agency.

If you have any additional questions regarding this response, please feel free to contact my office at 703-325-9448.

Sincerely,

[signed]
