This is a pre employment poly for a PD. I know that police are very big on integrity and honesty, so I'm afraid that it will look very bad to the police commissioners and that I will be a potential liar on the job.

So long as the lies you admitted to are innocuous, I do not think it will be a problem. What you did was expected and the fact that this bothered you is, ironically, in your favor.
