Relationship Poly

I have a polygraph coming up in the next few weeks because my wife suspects me of cheating.  I came across this site and found this post https://antipolygraph.org/cgi-bin/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1351449604.

I'm curious why some people  gave Kristy" advice to not take the test?

There is no way I am getting out of taking this test.  What would I say to my wife anyway?  She is convinced that they are accurate and if I press the point that they are not, that makes me look guilty.

On SHOWTIME, PENN & TELLER did a show that is right on point about the fraud of the so-called "lie detector" - especially as it relates to fidelity issues.  You can watch excerpts from this show, (and many others that debunk the myth of "lie detection") on this website:  http://www.polygraph.com/media

So I suggest you pop some popcorn, and invite your wife to watch this show with you - it is entitled "THE LIE DETECTOR IS BULLSHIT!"

I have been fighting the thugs and charlatans in the polygraph industry for forty years.  I tell about my crusade against the insidious Orwellian polygraph industry in my book FALSE CONFESSIONS - THE TRUE STORY OF DOUG WILLIAMS' CRUSADE AGAINST THE ORWELLIAN POLYGRAPH INDUSTRY.  Please visit my website POLYGRAPH.COM and follow me on TWITTER @DougWilliams_PG

I think it's unwise for anyone suspected of infidelity -- especially anyone wrongly suspected of infidelity -- to agree to submit to polygraph "testing" regarding that. It's degrading and demeaning. And it doesn't work. Polygraphy has no scientific basis: the results are simply not reliable.

If you take the polygraph and pass, don't you suppose that your wife will be curious enough to do an Internet search on "how to beat a polygraph" and find sites like this one that explain precisely how to do that? And then she'll wonder whether you beat the polygraph.

On the other hand, should you fail the polygraph, your situation will be only be worse.

So if I were in your shoes, I would refuse the polygraph and share with your wife documentation regarding the unreliability of polygraphy (and how the test can be beaten).

I'll send you a private message with some additional information that might be helpful.

There seriously is no way I'm getting out of taking this test. I'm gonna try to get a friend to help by  doing some mock test and going over some of your techniques.  He claims to have passed a test while lying. (how can I trust him?  LOL)

It seems as though if the test can be beaten so easily with a few hours of practice then I have nothing to worry about.  right?

Said the fly to the spider. You have been given sound advice, go ahead and jump into the seat, heck you might even get the slow witted Quickfix, who knows?

I don't understand.  The book and this site talks about how to beat the polygraph and when someone says that they are going to try to do it, people advise them not to.

because of this, i've lost confidence that it can be done.

Ok. maybe I'll think about getting out of it. but I know my wife. This is going to basically cast  a huge doubt of deception.

I love this site. thanks for being so responsive.

The polygraph countermeasures outlined in The Lie Behind the Lie Detector can at best mitigate the risk of failing a polygraph "test." They cannot eliminate it. Factors beyond your control, including examiner bias, can also influence outcomes. If the examiner has a subjective belief that you're not telling the truth, you could "fail" regardless of what the charts look like. Your best option, in my opinion, is to refuse the polygraph.

This "slow-wit" earns a six-figure salary doing what I do (paid for in part by your taxes);  what do you earn giving stupid advice?

P.S. you're also a liar;  you promised to make me famous;  I'm still waiting!

Quickie, rest assured you are famous, at least to one Oklahoma Senator.

100K plus for being a complete charlatan? Hey, if you can pull off that kind of scam, more power to you.
