Going for BI, have one question regarding "underage" images

I have an otherwise clean record, and have never committed any "undetected crimes".

The only thing that scares me is this:

When I was 14, I may or may not have been on limewire and viewed some "questionable" images. The first time wasn't intentional (as in, I was searching for it), but there were a couple more (read 2-3 - but I'm not talking about a lot of images, I'm talking about a couple in total from all of the times that it may have happened) times during the summer where I did view more "questionable" (however, nothing that's wasn't obviously "questionable"). For the purpose of this question the "questionable" part refers to the age of the girls they all appeared to be my age or older, NOT younger... I have not seen any more "questionable" material since I was 14 - which was 8 years ago...

And, the second being that I "sexted" with girls, some my girlfriend, some not my girlfriend while we were both under 18, but never once while I was over the age of 18. I have read that this usually isn't a problem but that it may or may not depend on the person.

The first part worries me more than the second part, but in all honesty I was curious to look at naked pictures of a girl that looked youngerish (possibly under 18). I don't know the actual age of the girls, and never will.

Anyone have any idea how much of a problem this may/may not be? I've heard that since it was underage girls and even though it was the summer of eighth grade, they'll still look at it in a negative light.

rickyjoe,

Any admission, however minor, invites a full-blown interrogation about your pornography viewing habits and sex life and could result in investigators coming to your home to seize and forensically examine your computer. Thus, the only "right" answer to the question, "Have you ever viewed child pornography?" is an unqualified "No." Got it? Good.

For similar reasons, if asked about "sexting" with girls, the correct answer is that you've never done it.

May consider other career paths then. Didn't know sexting/viewing girls your own age naked was considered such a big deal (at the time) EVEN if you aren't 18.

I don't watch porn anymore though (at all), or anything else related to sex/porn that wouldn't look good.

I'm not suggesting that you're an immoral person or that you're not cut out for any particular career path. I'm merely advising you that the correct answer to any question about having viewed child pornography or sexting is "No."

The behavior you have described would not be of any interest to any background investigator I know.  I conduct police background investigations, and it would certainly not be of interest to me.

A 14 year old looking at a few pictures of another 14 year old?  It's irrelevant.

Sending sexually explicit messages to a consenting partner?  Also irrelevant.

Lying during a background interview?  If you are caught in a lie, you're finished.
