getting ready for 4th NSA poly- anyone experience this?

The wife is going to take her 4th poly at some point in the near future.  She is now about 5-6 months into this - the BI was started in the summer, and the first poly was probably a month after that.  I found this site and we have educated ourselves as much as can through it.

A couple of questions we have

1)  understand that anything beyond 3 requires "special authorization."  - WHO is going to administer this next round - your standard interrogator or some bigwig?

subquestion -  who makes the request for the 4th attempt.  Her employer (govt contractor) or the NSA?

2)  She has tried to use the behavioral counters as best she can since this test is R/I (breathing, composure, etc).    Has not given any information in any pre or post test discussions.  Any suggestions on anything else that could help her pass this time?

3)  Is this a good sign that she's called back (like, we're going to keep doing this until you pass) or a bad sign (like, we're trying to get you to give up some info we can use against you).

4)  Do all cases get ajudicated at NSA, whether or not you fail the poly (in other words, if she fails this time will they kick it over to ajudication).

5)  WILL THIS PROCESS EVER END?

I don't know, but I would assume that a more senior polygraph operator will be officiating.

Again, I don't know for certain, but I would assume that the decision to administer a 4th polygraph session rests with the NSA, not the contractor.

If your wife is asked whether she has researched polygraphy, she might want to be candid about it. The NSA's polygraph unit will likely have a hard time believing that anyone coming back for a 4th polygraph won't have Googled "polygraph" and come across the information presented here.

In fact, it's a virtual certainty that the NSA polygraph unit will be specifically aware of your post here (don't bother deleting it, it's already too late). As a consequence, all married females reporting for a 4th polygraph in the near future may be in for a particularly harsh grilling.

So I think that the "complete honesty" is appropriate here. If I were in your wife's shoes, I would be candid about my knowledge of polygraphy, and even acknowledge being the subject of this message thread if asked. It is to be hoped that the NSA will have the integrity not to punish your wife for her candor.

I think it's a good sign. If the NSA at this point considered your wife to be an unacceptable security risk, then I don't think she would have been invited back for a fourth polygraph session.

I'm not sure what the attendant formalities are, but to the best of my knowledge, passing the polygraph is a requirement for NSA positions (including contractor positions) that require polygraph screening.

Of course it will. Let's just hope it ends well!
