Polygraph documentary: your voices need to be heard

I'm making a documentary on polygraphs, and would like to hear from anyone willing to tell their story on film.

If you're interested in being interviewed for a polygraph documentary, please send your story to me.  A link to a post in this forum is fine if you've already posted it here or would prefer to -- but please do specify in your email if you would be willing to discuss your experiences on camera, as yourself.

I want local-level, state-level, and federal-level folks, and I'd like to talk to polygraph victims as well as policy-makers and researchers.

Yes, there's only one of me.

My website has links to some published work, which may give you some additional sense of my voice:  http://www.katelynsack.com/contact.htm

But what really matters in a documentary is other people's voices.  Any thoughts on where else I should post my call for interviewees -- maybe Craigslist DC?

Just my opinion, but I'd rather any documentary on the subject of the polygraph be kept apolitical.  Neither extreme left ("bush and cheney eat babies for breakfast!") or extreme right ("illegal aliens should be eaten for breakfast!").  The facts alone should be enough without an politicization.  Lord knows we have enough of that now.

Last week's episode of "Teller and Penn:  Bullshit!", did a pretty good job.

Good Luck, though.

Hi TC,

I'm not a member of any political party.  I'm not receiving funding from any corporation or organization for this project.  (So it's pretty low-budget!)  I'm just an independent film-maker, and I intend to present the facts.

My intent is to help get people's stories out there, because I think that's how we'll attain the change that needs to happen here.

Best,
Katelyn

Ms Sack

Could you enlighten me?  Exactly what change needs to happen here?

Hello,

I would be delighted to interview polygraph examiners in addition to avowed false-positive victims, researchers, and policy-makers.  Please email me (katelyn.sack@gmail.com) with your real name and the story or expertise you have to offer if you desire to contribute to this project.

Thanks and best regards,
Katelyn

I wouldn't mind you using my name at all. I have never felt so humiliated in my life before. I feel depressed. I don't even care about the job, I care about my reputation. I posted yesterday if you would like to read it or email me.

I assume there would be no voice changing / obscuring/hiding of people's faces in this, right?

You're welcome to message me about this or otherwise further discuss your particular case with me off the record so that we're both making informed decisions.

However, for obvious reasons I can't use phone interviews in a documentary.  So I especially need folks in Virginia/DC, since I reside in Charlottesville and my budget is shoestring because I'm completely independent.  (I hope to slowly work my way around elsewhere where it counts.)

Similarly, I can't use faceless, voiceless characters to put particular human faces and voices on a large, messy process.  That said, I have access to pretty sweet software.  Give me a really good story, and maybe I'll give you a claymation embodiment.  I can see it now:  "Gumbee Learns Counter-Measures from the Cubans"...

Please, please get in touch with me if you learned counter-measures from the Cubans.

It should go without saying, but people are crazy, so I'll say it anyway.  I'm not using anything from anybody without a signed release.  This is not "talk to me at your own risk" territory.  The nature of film rights and entertainment law is such that it's not in any film-maker's interest to operate in such a fashion, so unauthorized disclosures ought not be a concern.  You decide to tell your story, or it's not getting told.
