What have you done when some has admited to looking at the site and reading some of the documentation on here. I am a very nervous person when it comes to interviews and things and that is why I came here. I have decided attempting to lie is not a good idea, as may have been seen as covering up something worse than what I have actually done throughout my life.

Also in the future I'm planning on persuing a military career that requires top secret clearance. Would any of this volations disqaulify me (from your experience)?

-Saw an escort once
-as for stealing i stole a couply candies as a child
-more recently when buying bulkfoods i purposely put a cheaper code down sometimes(hey I am student who is trying to make ends meet)
-A long time ago I worked for a certain food company. The owner refused to pay me overtime even though I ruotinely worked much overtime. To make up for this I sometimes took food without paying for it because is was stealing my overtime hours. I felt justified in this.
-Did pot for about a month in highschool and then stopped.

The rationalization of your behavior is most likely to disqualify you.  It shows that you don't have a problem with unethical behavior that you know is wrong - you will simply justify it in your mind and continue.

That shows a lack of maturity and responsibility.

Sackett-
I read that you work with the LVMPD.  I grew up in Vegas and I want nothing more than to be a police officer in the LVMPD.  I am a good, honest person and I have no intention of lying to the department about anything in my past. In fact, I have already taken the written test (which I passed) and PHQ which I answered honestly and failed. I was hoping it was only due to the recency of marijuana usage (the last time I smoked it was just under two years from the time of the test).  My main concern though, was that I did acid twice and ate magic mushrooms three times in high school (more than 5 years ago). I heard that the use of any halucinogen is grounds for permanent DQ.  Is this true?  Should I abandon my dream of becoming a cop and pursue a different career? I would really appreciate an honest and straightforward answer. Thank you.

I am not Sackett, but have 30 years in LE.  The honest and straightforward answer, is forget about being a cop.  While you may have turned your drugging ways around, the fact is, that most police departments do have choices as to who they want to hire, and why would they want to hire you when there are other equally qualified applicants who have not used drugs in the manner you have?

I wouldn't hire you.

Scheffer, 523 U.S. 303, 118 S.Ct. 1261, 140 L.Ed.2d 413, 1998.)
