what about south dakota

hi, i was wondering if south dakota law on polygraph if it is admissable or inadmissable in federal court? and could i get a statue number for it, or a rule, please. i have looked everywhere and came on htis site , thank goodness. a friend of mine was convicted and the poly grapn was used in court, the first time it was that he told the truth the second time was he had lied. this would have been 2004-5. thank you for any help you can give. cheyenne Smiley

South Dakota state law cannot govern the admissibility of polygraph evidence in federal courts. Under the Daubert Standard, polygraph evidence may be admissible in federal trials. You'll find summaries of some recent federal cases where polygraph admissibility was at issue here:
