I recently passed a pre employment poly test for a high level security job.first Thanks to the web master and his free e book,it helped alot.Another tip is to never tell the examiner during pre test that you are nervous or worried.Tell them, no you are not worried as *I have nothing to hide*,maybe say you are curious to see how it works to throw them off.Also if you do have something to hide like marijuana usage,ETC,tell yourself over and over in your mind you havent used/sold any in 10 years.Your body will actually believe the lie and will be conditioned for the question.It worked for me.Feel free to ask me any questions and remember to believe you will pass and you will,,and do not ask if you passed after the session.

Or if the agency uses the hair follicle test, he probably has refrained from doing drugs for the past year.  It isn't too hard to pass a drug screening.
