Personal History Questions

Hello I have a couple of questions about getting hired at a decent PD with my past problems.

Well lets see, age 12 arrested for trespassing
age 15 was kicked out of school for selling drugs in school ( I was never charged for this nor was it ever proven) age 19 arrested for underage drinking. I'm 21 now and working for PA D.O.C. and also working on my B.A. degree. But I'm thinking that I might be a lost cause. What do you guys/gals think my chances are. I don't care where it is as long as I can provide for my family.

Selling drugs is an automatic disqualifier for every agency I know of.  It doesn't matter if you were charged or not.

I would be more likely to believe you if your first post had included something like, "...falsely accused of selling drugs."

Instead you worded it, "I was never charged for this nor was it ever proven."

I don't know if you were in fact selling drugs, but there's clearly more to that story than you are not telling.  You were involved with the distribution or sale of drugs in some way, shape, or form.  Perhaps it was on the periphery only, but you were involved.

That would need to be thoroughly explained during your BI and I would not be optimistic of your chances of doing so.

If you were completely innocent of any drug involvement you would have likely protested being expelled from school.  Since you were in fact expelled a BI will be inclined to believe that something regarding drugs was going on.

Good luck.

I can see why you would have taken it that way, by the way I worded it. I was in no way involved with any drugs at all. I did protest but being only 15yo there was only so much I could do, also my mother protested it and I was put in an "alternative" school.

a far better response.  level with the BI investigator and let the chips fall.  I can't speak to either polygraph or cvsa chances.
