Any Canadians with experiences?

Hi there,

I just found this website while researching for a polytest I would need to take for intel agencies in Canada. I'm really glad that I did.. I've learned alot about how the tests are performed. Does anyone have any Canadian experiences?

I know a friend of mine took a polytest for a local police service and had extremely sensitive questions asked (related to homosexuality and cheating on GF's / wife). I also know that he signed an agreement saying he never researched polygraphs before taking the tests (Whoops! I suppose I shouldn't have).  Any experiences with the RCMP,CSE or CSIS?

Not personally, but I can say that the poly is BS and a POS  Grin  Whether administered in the States, Canada, Europe, or on Pitcairn Island, it's still junk.

Your friend should not have been questioned about sexual proclivities or activities.  Homosexuality is condoned even more in Canada than in the States, I submit, so what would it matter?

As to adultery, let them ask his wife or acquaintances if such a thing has happened.

Cheating on your girlfriend?  That's legal, if caddish.  Until you say "I do," you haven't, and what you do for recreation is your business, provided it's not a crime.

This whole topic is taboo even to polygraphers themselves.  Polyboys know that such questions will elicit a raised level of biofeedback no matter the truthfulness of the victim, er, examinee.  They also know that such a spike makes any interpretation impossible (as if it weren't before).

If you still want to deal with an organisation that utilises the poly, read The Lie Behind The Lie Detector in its entirety, and re-read ch. 3 and 4 in detail.  Study the tactics, drills, and procedures.  Focus.  Wax on, wax off... Cheesy  And you should be in better shape...

Polygraphers escaped from among the evils of Pandora's box, which might have been an old analog polygraph... only God can tell whether you're lying or not, and He will judge you in His own time...

WHO IN CANADA IS MAKING YOU TAKE THIS? IS IT CECIS? IS REFUSING TO TAKE THE TEST GOING TO PUT AN END TO YOUR CAREER ASPRIRATIONS? OR ARE YOU AN HONEST PERSON WHO HAS NOTHING TO HIDE AND ARE NOT TERRIBLEY BOTHERED. IF REFUSING TO TAKE THE TEST WOULD RESULT ONLY IN YOUR MILD EMBARRASSEMENT, DON'T SUBMIT. I SUBMITTED TO [POLY BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT REAALY WORKED. BOY, WAS I EVER WRONG. READ ABOUT ALL THE PEOPLE WHO'S CAREERS HAVE ENDED OR HAD THEIR LIVES RUINED BY THIS THING. IT'S BEEN TWO YEARS FOR ME AND I STILL HAVE THE NIGHTMARES.
