	Did your polygrapher actually accuse you of using countermeasures, or did you simply infer that he thought you used them because of his comment, "Wow, you beat the polygraph?"

	If a subject fails the polygraph, or if countermeasures are suspected, standard polygraph procedure is to confront the examinee with that. Since that didn't happen, it seems most likely that you actually did pass. Your polygrapher's comment about your having "beaten" the polygraph could have been a sort of counter-countermeasure, the purpose being to gauge your reaction. Had you not at that point denied countermeasure use, it might have been taken as a sort of admission.

Although it is not common practice, I am not aware of any general prohibition that would prevent a polygrapher from telling a subject "off the record" that he/she passed but then failing him/her. The answer to your question may depend on your state's laws as well as any relevant departmental, municipal, county, or state administrative regulations.
