Use spinchter CM at all?

Wondering, is the spinchter CM still an option if the polygrapher does not have the pads? I've been practicing that CM all year and have it down pretty good.

How does the tongue-biting compare to the spinchter CM as far as results go? Is one more effective than the other?

Also, in the one download (dodpi-lepet), it states that they teach "all fear is detected", no matter if CM's are used or not. True? If I know I'm lying, but use a CM, does the system pick that up? I'm assuming not, if the CM's are applied correctly to the control questions.

Just wondering. I hope not to have to lie on the test, but I will do what it takes to protect myself!!

Yes. My first choice, however, would be mental countermeasures.

There is no research evidence regarding this question. But there is no reason to assume that the anal sphincter contraction is more effective than either tongue biting or mental countermeasures.

Remember, polygraphy has no scientific basis. Fear may or may not result in reactions measurable by the polygraph. A person who is telling a falsehood may or may not show a reaction on the polygraph. Similarly, a person who is telling the truth may or may not show a reaction. But the key to "passing" this invalid procedure is to show stronger reactions to the "control" questions than to the relevant questions.

Thanks, George.  I'm certainly no expert. Having said that, what makes the mental CM better than tongue-biting? I guess I never thought of counting backwards by 7 from 854, for example, as something that would produce a cardio influx. I can actually FEEL my blood pressure increase when I use the spinchter method. I don't feel anything when I'm counting down or thinking about falling off a cliff.

Suggestions?

I think that mental countermeasures are preferable because 1) they are painless and 2) an ill-concealed tongue bite might be observed by the polygrapher.

Polygraph instruments are sensitive, and you don't necessarily need to feel your blood pressure rising to produce a reaction measurable by the polygraph.

Also, From talking to certain police officers at my work (i work security for a retailer) They have told me that the chair you sit in while taking the test is rigged to sense body movement so simple things such as a tack in the shoe or flexing your asshole can be detected and will show up on the test... just to give you a heads up.
