	So what questions do they ask you on a police polygraph so you can be hired as a police officer? I want real answers not "I Think" . The purpose for me being on this site is to set the true from the fake apart, so please dont respond unless you really know. Im tired of hearing bs, I want the truth

	Are you for real? First off, you have a real crappy attitude, seems like you need an adjustment there especially considering how stupid your arguement and question really is. Second, the question you are asking has hundreds of different answers. Kind of like asking "I want to know what mexican restaurants put in their tacos" well, it can be a crap load of different things, because each restaurant does things differently, just like each department and polygrapher will ask different questions or focus on different parts of you life and history. Finally, in answer to your question, I think George has done an amazing job at gathering a variety of resources such as the DOD manual and the TLBTLD which I suggest you not be lazy and READ as they will provide you with an idea of the kind of questions asked.

You can also get it straight from the horse's mouth in the Department of Defense Polygraph Institute's Law-Enforcement Pre-Employment Test examiner's guide. 	Yeah I am serious dimas, You dont know how many times ive got the run around when all im doing is asking a simple question. Yes I very much know that there are different question is differnent areas, but noone has yet to writye down all the questions they were asked. Im primary interested in from city to stae poly. questions in california, nevada ect. Ive talked to a few cops around here and all they seem to want to tell me, "or remeber", are the questions having to do with sex.(laughing) One told me that they'll ask if you,or have been with a hooker, ever looked at child porn, stuff of that nature. Those questions dont bug me. WHat bugs me is not knowing the rest, or even a General idea. Geroge thanks for the info you gave, even tho it waqs at the federal level, it still helped me a liltte bit. Im looking for those who have been through the procees here in the west coast that will share there story with me. Also the name of the department if you dont mind.....THANKS

Your question and possible answer would lead the reader to believe that simply by stating one has viewed the information on this site would cause a negative bias against the examinee on the part of the examiner. Hey dont worry I have nother to hide, Its just that ever since ive read all this stuff, it kinda scared the hell out of me...for a while, until I understood it. 	buzlightyear, My earlier statement was a bit hazy. If you are aware of the hiring agency's standards and are within parameters I see no reason to lie. Now, that being said, I see no reason to lie if you are not within acceptable parameters, for that matter I see no reason to apply at all. While I believe the polygraph to be of no value (rather a detriment) in the screening process, I surely do not believe it is acceptable to lie to obtain a position which one is not qualified to hold according to the established guidelines set forth by the hiring agency or state certification board. Please keep in mind that if you do lie during application processing there is the possibilty the lie will bear fruit in the future...career over.

	well the only thing im going to have to lie about, is about this place and all its information. Im just what there looking for, ive never done anything wrong, nor have I even tried drugs. The only thing ive done is countless HUNDREDS of hours volunteered to my city, and to my county in the miliatry. Little did I know that after I started reading about polygraphs, would I come across "the lie behind the lie detector" Its my own fault for learning, but now I have no choice but to lie when they ask me if I know about countermeasers ect. So what your telling me is that just because ive read a book, you deem me no worthy of becoming a peace officer? My only responce to that is crappity smack YOU. Sorry but thats the honest truth. Sorry if i offend you, but not everybody looking to cheat the polygraph is a bad person, nor does it mean they have done anything wrong. There are times that its better to lie then to tell the truth you should know that by now. If I dont lie, im just going to be thinking of all the things ive learned, and yeah ill probibly fail BECAUSE ILL BE THINKING TOO MUCH. So if your wife was 10 months preg. and she asked you if you if you thought she was fat, what would you say? Yes??? you would be a complete asshole if you did. Sometimes it is beter to lie then to tell the truth. If I simply tell the truth on my polygraph, Im going to at the very least make the test come out inconclusive because I wont be able to relax. So lay off me please, all im trying to do is get advice, not nonsense and opinions from people who dont know me. Thats a real pet peave of mine.

If you would care to re-read my last post to which this is your response please do so. Take note that I mentioned disqualifiers which any agency would be more than willing to share with you. You never stated what exactly you are so ready to lie about. From the available statements I interpreted it to mean that you meant lying to something relevant (i.e. - drug use, past criminal behavior, etc.). Keep in mind though that lying is perceived as an integrity issue. Most agencies will mention integrity as a top criterion. No I do not feel you are unworthy of becoming a PO because you read TLBTLD. If I felt that way, I would have to conclude that I too am unworthy. I will be upfront regarding my association with this website during my upcoming examination. Good, bad or indifferent I'll be truthful. I do realize in doing so I risk not being hired, biases are a bitch. But in the end God and I will both know I was honest even if the machine and its operator beg to differ. You may want to refrain from flying-off-the-handle in your polygraph examination as you have done here in your relatively few posts. BTW: advice and opinions are synonomus.

	Thats why I fly off the handle, everyone just assumes, DONT ASSUME. I simply ask a question, and never get an answer , thast what makes me upset. I dont know how it goes from asking a question to making it seem like im hiding something, or telling me something I already know.So far this has happned more than once. Sorry if I seem upset, Im not mad to the point that im going to kil someone, Im simply upset that my questions are still un-answered. By the way, one simple lie is not going to" bear fruit in the future"...career over. One more thing, im very professional and I take alot of crap from people before I get upset. Not to name names, but ive recieved emails from those on here telling me this and that, and that im a bad person because im going to lie to the police....What the hell is up with that? I know who I am, Im not a bad person, and havent done anything wrong. Im going to ask a favor from everybody on this site. Dont assume anything about me, you dont know me, so dont talk to me and give me advice like im a stupid criminal. Im not here to cheat my way out of my past. IVE DONE NOTHING WRONG. Im sorry if ive made anyone on here mad, but you have to understand where im comming from.
