The Department of Defense Polygraph Institute's parent agency, the Counterintelligence Field Activity (CIFA), very recently posted a public notice of a vacancy for the position of Polygraph Inspector. Applications for this GS-14 position were accepted during a period of
(19-23 August 2005). Might DoDPI have had a "sweetheart" candidate in mind for the job and for this reason set a closing date so soon after the opening was announced? Additionally, the job was for some reason announced on a Friday (the 19th), so that two of the five days during which applications were accepted fell on the weekend.
It sure seems like the fix was in at DoDPI.
It's also interesting that while this position requires a TS/SCI cleareance, no polygraph requirement is mentioned!
