Idaho Dad Cleared After Told He Failed Poly

Idaho authorities clear the father of two missing children after he reportedly failed portions of an FBI administered polygraph. Steve Groene told Geraldo Rivera on a Sunday Fox News program that the FBI agent who administered the poly told him that he failed portions of it and accused him of knowing something about his childrens' whereabouts. Groene told Rivera the agent administering the polygraph said immediately afterward, "Steve, I have to tell you I have doubts. You haven't passed portions of this polygraph..." Local authorities announced Monday that Groene is not a suspect in the case.

***Kootenai County sheriff's Captain Ben Wolfinger has confirmed that Steven Groene, the father of  9-year-old Dylan and 8-year-old Shasta, failed a polygraph test; but Wolfinger calls that insignificant and attributes it to stress, and repeats that Groene is not a suspect in the abduction of his two children and the murders of his ex-wife Brenda Groene, their 13-year-old son Slade, and Brenda's boyfriend. Yesterday, Groene told Geraldo Rivera that police believe he lied during his polygraph test and that he didn't have a strong alibi.***

Sounds as if valid evidence was discovered.  Be assured that without valid evidence to back up Groene's story the polygraph failure would not be insignificant in the eyes of investigators, nor would stress be a valid reason for the failure.  Polygraph:  a fair-weather tool of convience.

That's right Brandon.  You could be telling the truth and fail the poly and in the eyes of the investigators you are the guilty one even though you are innocent and this case proves that the polygraph is a failure and causes investigators to unfairly view a suspect who has failed prejudicially.   If this other evidence wasn't discovered, I wonder if they would have arrested this individual?
