Here's the Catch.  As a formal active duty and reserve intelligence officer, I've worked in the DOD intel community on some pretty compartimentalized things.  Once I was in the reserves, I continued to work in operational areas that required me to work with a cover with my civilian employer.  Obviously, I can't tell my civilian employer, "Gee, Boss I'm going out these next two weeks to run counter surveilance on suspect terrorist...."  Instead, I'd lie to them about what I would be doing.   

Now, I've decided to pursue a fulltime career as a Fed. 1811 and also applied to the CIA.  In regards to the Fed 1811 job, I'll have to lie about my involvement with foreign nationals.  As for the CIA, they know what I did for DOD, no problems.  But neither job is a sure thing.  I'm scheduled for my Poly with the Fed agency later this month and want to make sure I pass that one while not violating Disclosure Laws or failing the "Ever lie to your Boss or loved one?" questions.   

Now, I'd prefer the CIA job anyday over the 1811 job.  But I want the 1811 job as a back up for CIA.  When I was 24 I took a Poly for a local police department without knowing anything about Poly's and passed, although that was prior to my DOD work.  THis time around I've done this research and I'm seriously spooked (no pun intended).  I guess I'm planning on using CMs.  Any thoughts?
