It would seem to me that you could have the interview process put on "hold" until you've had the surgery, rather than have to start all over again. Perhaps you should discuss it with the recruiter you dealt with? Note that I have never applied for a job with the FBI, so this is just my opinion.

I had lasik surgery last May and it was the best decision I ever made.  I had always just worn glasses, never contacts because I am afraid to touch my eye.  The surgery was a breeze, and that night I watched the NBA playoffs on TV and it was unreal!  I would highly recommend getting it, if not for the SA poistion, get it for yourself.   

Also, the tests that the gov. requires after lasik surgery are a joke.  My application got held up because after I took the physical I got something in the mail from Georgia telling me that my application had been medically suspended pending further documentation.  Instead of giving me paperwork to be filled out during the physical the nurses didn't tell me I needed further testing.  So when my physical went to review in Georgia I didn't have All the tests I needed to have done.  So they give you a list of DR.'s in your city to get this testing done.  I called up the three best eye doctor's in Philly and only one office was able to perform the test.  One Doctor told me good luck in finding anyone in all of Philadelphia to do those tests.  He went on to explain how out of date the those specific tests are.   When I had the tests done the Opthomologist told me that the one chart I had to read off of was the only one in the city.  She told me that the testing the Gov. requires is completely out of date.  She said that she gets all the Gov. applicants because her office is the only office in the whole area that can do the tests the Gov. wants.  She said she thinks the Dr. running the Gov. guidlines in Georgia is probably just an MD. and has no idea about the advances in Opthomology.   

Long story short as always the Gov. is behind the curve.

Is it a 20/200 uncorrected vision OR corrected of 20/20 vision?  If I have 20/400 uncorrected but 20/20 corrected vision (contact lens), is that still not qualified?  Please help...thanks!
