Hi there its my first time here and I just wanted to ask a few questions and see if anyone could help me out. A friend of mine (who Ive known for atleast 10 years) was on a paintball team he was working there one day and some equipment got stolen Automaticly the owner said everyone had to take a poly, and my friend knowing he had done nothing wrong agreed. This was his first poly so I would imagine his nerves were totaled however I come to find out he failed and was kicked off the team. When I looked at his lie detector test he (apperently) lied at everyquestion he was given even when asked "Are you sitting in a chair" In which he was Im just curious about a logical reply to them, and what kind of rights my friend has if any thank you for reading my message

LeoIX,
Did your friend "work" for this paintball team, or was he just a member of it? Who owned the stolen equipment; the team, the range or an individual? Was your friend charged with stealing the equipment? Who is the "owner", and what did he own?

LeoIX,

Your friend's legal rights will depend to some extent on whether his employer was a public agency (like a city parks commission) or a private company or individual. The applicable law is the Employee Polygraph Protection Act. (Federal, state, and local governments are exempted from the provisions of this law, which is why we're seeking passage of a Comprehensive Employee Polygraph Protection Act with no exemptions.)

In addition, some states have laws governing the use of polygraphs in employment situations, and state and municipal agencies may have their own, additional regulations on the use of polygraphs.
