This was my 2 nd polygraph they asked me 18 questions and did 2 charts. The polygrapher was very nice but at the end of the 2 nd chart he showed me how strongly i reacted to all the drug questions. I couldn't believe how strong the reaction was, the line seperated and went completely to the top. He also said I reacted to the question if I lied to him during the pre interview and during my oral board. After showing me these strong reactions on the chart he said if anything was bothering me I said no, he said he is not allowed to give the results that he will score the charts and show it the the head person. After seeing how strongly I reacted I would say it is 100% that I failed. I don't know what else to do I have been completely honest on both polygraph(different departments)should I appeal and if so where do I appeal, I'm in south florida. What advice can you give me? Also I don't think there were any control question in my exam they asked me questions like: have I've been completely honest about my personal use of cocaine?, did i lie about anything on my job application? did I lie to the oral board panel?, did i lie to the polygrapher?, is there anything that i feel would disqualify me from the process?Other then what I've said did I lie about my marijauna use? did i ever sell illegal drugs? have i'VE been honest about my gambling? ec... the polygrapher said that i did ok on the obvious questions about have a criminal record but like i said i reacted on the drug questions this why I'm sure i failed. please give mye advice and info on a appeal and what to do if i get another rtest like this. Cry

Dear Mended,

Have you received an official letter of denial of application and for what reason you were denied?

I would wait for this letter or phone call (at least two weeks) before sending any letter of appeal.

Sending a letter of appeal will not change any recommendation that the examiner has officially stated.

The letter can be very important.  Should there be any references to your polygraph findings in your future, you can refer to your dispute with the polygraph's findings.

The letter might at least cause a review of your case and accusations.

Regards.
