Results Are In:  I PASSED (but.....)

Well the results are in.

After using the old tac-in-the-shoe trick on the control questions of a control questions polygraph test for pre-employment, I just discovered that I did indeed PASS the actual polygraph exam using only this physical countermeasure!

And no, the examiner was not able to determine that I used countermeasures by "gazing" at the charts.

However, I was disqualified from the job opportunity I was seeking because of my admissions.  I admitted to drug use in the late 90's.

I would like to thank George and Gino for making the "Lie Behind the Lie Detector" freely available to those who use the internet.

While they do not advocate using the tac-in-the-shoe countermeasure, their book was the final source that made the entire polygraph process and (junk) science understandable and clear to me.

I definitely know how to beat the lie detector now:
Countermeasures and nearly no admissions.

Thanks sincerely,

(PS:  For those of you who are going to use the tac trick anyway (and go against the norm), here is how I did it without getting caught:

I took the padding/indside padding of my dress shoe out and
put a flat-headed tac through the padding at the very top so that it was sticking out inside my shoe just above my big toe
(just above meaning beyond it so that when I walked it was like it wasn't even there).

When I sat in the chair and the examiner was attaching the equipment to me, I pushed my foot hard against the ground and forced my foot forward (keeping the shoe planted to the ground) inside the shoe until my big toe was right over the tac.

From there, all I had to do was push my big toe down on the tac when the control was asked.

Movement was minimal/pressure was minimal because my toe was over the tac the whole time.

When the test was over, I pushed down with my foot again and slid my foot back away from the tac.

Note:  I pushed down really hard on the control as soon as I recognized the control question.

Breathing:  I kept a nice breathing throughout the test: monitored it the whole way through, and I think the pain from the tac may have affected my breathing on the contols, as well as heart rate.)

Thanks for responding.  No it really didn't hurt at all (except for when I was practicing walking at home and stepped on it hard....that REALLY hurt!).  I think I was focusing so much on detecting the control questions during the test--and applying pressure at the right times--that I kind of overlooked the pain.  At the most it felt like an intense pinch.

Yes I heard of the Doug guy.  Is his technigue that he suggests to use the Anal-Pucker tightening with breathing countermeasures? I thought his "Sting the lie detector" would be using the tac trick.

I would personally suggest not using breathing countermeasures unless you truly know what you are doing and have practiced until perfect.

A pain countermeasure/physical countermeasure is enough to get you by if you do it hard enough to affect both GSR and bloodpressure/heart rate.

While I don't personally believe that examiners can detect countermeasures on the charts that affect GSR and cardio, I do think it might be an easy task for them to detect breathing countermeasures used by someone unskilled/new at it because breathing is an easy thing to control/under our control to a great degree.

In other words, maybe stick with just the anal pucker trick if you're not good at the breathing techniques.  The anal pucker trick--when used properly and at the right times/on the controls--will affect the GSR and blood pressure.

You only need significant changes in two of the three areas to pass the test (in most cases).
