Title: Polygraphs used to purposely disqualify candidates Post by Braun on Apr 20th, 2016 at 1:29pm
My thoughts are (and these are simply my thoughts and beliefs), there are many departments that are being pressured into hiring minorities, b/c they do not have they're quotas. That being said, they are using the polygraph testing, to disqualify good candidates, so they can hire candidates that are less qualified (minorities).
I know an officer of good standing who failed only to find out later, the mayor only wanted to hire minorities from that particular state, however, they advertised for candidates online, and had them spend money to fly out, and go thru the entire hiring process 3 times...and then failed him on his polygraph. And know this, they all work together, so if you fail a polygraph, of course, they ask you if you did before you test...and they call each other and they will fail you again, if you apply in a different district. What I don't understand, is how they can sleep at night, knowing full well, that the candidate was sabotaged by them. But then, all our systems seem to be failing. Doing the right thing any longer doesn't seem to align in our society. and, what really disturbs me are officers who have passed the polygraph, who question those who didn't or can't pass, but have been completely honest and forthright. Please remember, just b/c you passed a polygraph with no issue, doesn't mean, another candidate isn't sabotaged by one. Polygraphs are not lie detector tests...they are machines and they cannot tell if a person is lying or not. I know several officers that this happened to, and I also know officers who have gone completely thru the process with high test scores and have been an officer in good standing, with not one bad mark against him and absolutely fear polygraphs. I also know people who have applied for a police department 911 operator, and went thru the entire process (which took months), including the polygraph, with high scores, and then 8 weeks of training, and was pushed out by some very nasty women, who deemed her to be, "not a good fit" so they refused to train her and got away with it. She was a victim of a corrupt system. So, please, walk a mile in my shoes, before judging someone incompetent....Polygraphs are a sham and used by the system to purposely disqualify candidates. And, I might add, they get paid a lot of money to do so. I don't mean to spew sour grapes, but this stuff does happen, so.... |

Using the polygraph as a tool for reverse discrimination? How insidious. If you can prove it, it could be the basis for a lawsuit: http://employment.findlaw.com/employment-discrimination/reverse-discrimination.html |

I had my suspicions. I'm a Chinese American and I was hired by the CIA. I was eventually denied a clearance because I failed my polygraph. I guess they hired me to prove that they "appreciate" ethnic diversity, but used the polygraph to rescind the offer. Racist bastards. |

My .02 cents:
The torrent of applicants is the justification for the pre-employment polygraph and its high failure rate. For the CIA, there are 150 applicants per opening. (Source: former CIA director Petraeus at a commencement speech.) |

that would be impossible to do, b/c a whole lot of people's jobs would be on the line, to try and prove it, if it even got that far. I don't believe many people understand, how utterly corrupt this country is... >:( |

Never did. "Doing the right thing" is not and never has been a way to make a profit. "Doing the right thing" is a sunk cost. Most of us work as smart and as hard as we can to accumulate enough treasure and leisure so that we can occasionally afford to do the right thing. |

They will use the polygraph to purposely disqualify anyone. Every organization now is being attacked by the PC police for not having an equal amount of women, blacks, hispanics, muslims, dykes and faggots. In fact, heterosexual Christian white males are screaming discrimination because they feel like they are no longer wanted. When you take the poly, you are guilty until proven innocent. You never know what the intention of the polygraphers may be. That's why you should always here to the #1 rule when taking a polygraph, don't admit to anything! They are just fishing for information to disqualify you. Make them go back to their bosses and report "we did not get any confessions out of this guy/gal". Then if/when they fail you, they have no basis, only suspicion without evidence. And squiggly charts is NOT evidence.

That is so true, especially when it comes to conducting a polygraph whereby the subject is fully informed of the actual risks, realities and limitations of the "test". |
