Title: Freemdom of information of Failed Poly
Post by nationwide on Apr 3rd, 2009 at 6:24pm
Last month after receiving a conditional offer of employment, I took the polygraph and psych for an IL suburban police department

A few weeks later I received a letter in the mail saying i didn't meet the minimum qualifications to be police officer and that my conditional offer was being withdrawn. It had to be the poly because the guy doing the psyc graduated from my university and we were talking for a long time and we really establish a good connection, but the poly was a different story.

I was really nervous during the poly and the examiner was a total jackass too bragging about how awesome and reliable the poly is and how its the best investigate tool ever invented. It was really a total nightmare half way through the poly his 1960's polygraph machine broke down and he had to shut down the machine and take off all the straps and detectors to fix the needles.

I'm not really too worried about this job because I have another one but I wanted to know if I could freedom of information act request the results either from the PD or from the poly psyche institute , or did i wave that right allready? Will my request be denied? I know you can FOIA request your Federal Background Investigation from OPM but can you do it from an IL  local PD.
