Title: DAMN THE TORPEDOES!!!
Post by Passedbutfailed on Aug 6th, 2002 at 1:59am
Well Gentlemen (and Ladies),

It seems as though the time has come!  This is truly a monumental epoch in the determination of all of us to deliver a decisive blow to the fraudulence of the polygraph community!  The mere fact that Senators and Congressmen refuse to submit to polygraph examinations allows us to exploit this intelligence in order broaden the public’s knowledge of what we all know is twenty-first century sorcery.

Honestly, I wasn’t afraid of my polygraph examination, so why should my representatives be fearful?

Unfortunately, our elected officials are hiding behind the cloak of ‘separation of powers in a mixed government,’ but we all know what they are really afraid of!  They are afraid of experiencing the same type of treatment that you and I, as well as the senior members, have undergone.  Indeed, this is hypocrisy in the strongest possible terms.

I do not want to sound like Thomas Paine on the eve of the American Revolution, but if there was ever a time to mobilize and exert energy into an offensive, it is now.

In a private message to George months ago, I wrote that the efforts of himself, Mark, Dave, Drew, etc… may not be apparent now, but history will record and recognize their efforts.  I still stand by that wholeheartedly because I know that I will see the demise of polygraph in my lifetime.

Listen, it’s just a matter of time, but an insurgent army needs to pick their battles and I believe that this is one of those times.  Write your Congressmen, your Senators, your District Representatives, tell your friends and remember that knowledge spreads like wildfire if applied properly.

Let’s put these witches and warlocks out of business, so that our National Security can be strengthened through good old-fashioned, gumshoe background investigations.  We just gave $1.5 billion to Uruguay as of last week, so I believe that we can afford to disburse the necessary funds for comprehensive investigations.  Let’s work hard to protect our country by shutting-down the fallible system of polygraph before this story disappears from the headlines (we all know that Americans have a very short attention span).

Sincerely yours,

Passedbutfailed

P.S. Speaking of news stories falling through the cracks, I invite every visitor to this website to check out the story of the FBI’s latest whistleblower, which the Bureau is trying their hardest to silence.  I still earnestly support the Bureau’s hard work and dedication, but this story is so turbulent that it needs to be read by a wider audience.

Furthermore, I will start a separate non-polygraph related thread to discuss this article.  WARNING: It might cause very intriguing conversation.

To Those Who Have Lost Faith,

It is interesting that the Commissioner of the Philadelphia Police Department, Sylvester Johnson, recently abolished the practice of polygraph as a pre-employment device.  This is because it takes a very heroic (or a very stupid) man to buck convention in the face of increasing pressure to reinforce security.  Especially since the notion of security after September 11th consists of reliance on the latest technology available to security agencies.

Remember that ‘sources, materials, and methods’ are easy to sell on the market due to feeble minds, but the [FDA] has yet to officially sanction the validity of these materials and methods, polygraph in particular.

This is truly a ‘shoot first, ask questions later’ approach to our everyday livelihood.

But guileless in his rationale, Police Commissioner Sylvester Johnson’s explanation for the monumental decision was so simple that even an eight-year old could follow his logic: Machines Cannot Replace Human Ingenuity!  In this affirmation, he clearly pronounced his preference for thorough background investigations, reliance on talent, and life/employment experience over what a piece of wood and metal coupled with a blind tiger could tell him.

God Bless Philly!  The City of Penn’s notion of Freedom.  The City of Courage!
