I was about the polygraph tests my son and his wife had to take one and they both failed on 2 questions and this failing caused them to lose my grandson and contact with her son from a previous relationship mind you these kids have been through a lot. my grandson fell coming out of his home while my daughter in law was getting wood for the stove and she did not take him to er cause she checked him out he was fine 5 minutes later kept an eye on him and how he behaved and when she took him to daycare she explained what happened and when she went to work dss was called and they took my grandson my son and his ex have a custody battle for my grandson after she was caught with drugs while the child was with her son is trying to get full custody him and his wife was getting temp custody and he fell its just been a long processs and a lot of bs they have never had any problems with any violent behavior and now this my grandson has a fall and they claim he was beaten and now his son is being taken and they wont put him back in the home --- he is depressed his son is his life and it is making his depression and anxiety worse he doesn't take med which he should and just because of a polygraph test they think they are lying no they are not all this took place while there has been 2 deaths in the family and my grandson being taken away they are having to deal with all this no wonder they cant function and couldn't pass the test.

I ordered a couple paperback copies of The Lie Behind the Lie Detector to verify that the print quality is satisfactory. (It is, and I'm quite pleased with it.) I was satisfyingly surprised to see that they were printed at Amazon's facility in Columbia, South Carolina. Columbia is also home to the National Center for Credibility Assessment, the Mecca of the pseudoscience of polygraphy. It seems somehow appropriate.

For the first time, we are making The Lie Behind the Lie Detector available in printed (paperback) format with color illustrations. We don't have the resources to make the paperback edition free, but are making it available through Amazon Direct Publishing for the lowest price allowed:

Congratulations, George!

I know the new edition was a lot of hard work.  It is a great accomplishment.

Thank you for continuing to be voice for truth!

AntiPolygraph.org is pleased to announce the release of the 5th edition of The Lie Behind the Lie Detector. This is the first new edition in 13 years.

Here's what's new:

  • Previous editions were typeset on a pre-OS X Macintosh computer using software that is now obsolete; thus, the entire book has been redesigned (albeit with a familiar format) on Apple Pages, with a new font. The redesign was a lot of work, but it will make more frequent updates easier in the future;
  • All of the previous black and white illustrations have been replaced with newer, color ones;
  • We suggest that applicants for federal positions that require polygraph screening withdraw their applications and not submit to any federal pre-employment polygraph "test." We used to limit this advice to the FBI. We now extend it to all federal agencies;
  • On the topic of polygraph countermeasures, we no longer suggest making any "throwaway" admissions and instead suggest to make no post-"test" admission(s) of any sort;
  • We have added to Chapter 4 a brief section on Operation Lie Busters, a federal criminal investigation that targeted polygraph countermeasure instructors for entrapment;
  • In addition to PDF format, EPUB (suitable for reading in Apple's iBooks or any EPUB reader on iOS or Android) and MOBI (Amazon Kindle) versions are now available. Note that by choice, The Lie Behind the Lie Detector is not available for sale on Amazon. All versions of our book are freely available here.

You can download the 5th edition of The Lie Behind the Lie Detector in PDF, EPUB, and MOBI versions, respectively, here:
