Hey everyone, I have a couple questions for those with experience. I recently received a COE from an IA , and the position that I am going for requires a level 5 clearance from which I understand is much higher than a regular clearance(Forgive me if I'm wrong Im new to clearances). Anyways, I know that they are going to pull credit and I don't think my current will be accepted for clearance. I have about $9000 in delinquent debt, about 2 years ago I moved cities and when I moved I wasn't able to find work and I had to pay bills so I had to use credit cards, and I was not able to pay them off, and when I did get a well paying job it was too late and the accounts were closed and sent to collections. I decided it wasn't worth paying them back simply because the damage was already done, and it's insanely hard to repair. Now I know I will have to try and obtain settlements and put them on a payment plan because I am unable to pay the amounts in full at this time, but what should I do to help the probability of obtaining a security clearance.
