You might want to find out who your nemesis is and shine the light on them. What was their motive for this sinister action? I still think you should grow a pair and stand up for yourself if you did nothing wrong.

bigredboat,

Dan is right. You should not, under any circumstances, agree to a polygraph "test." Polygraphy has no scientific basis, and even if you learn countermeasures, the polygraph operator can still decide to report that you failed, especially if he thinks that is the outcome that the person paying for the "test" wants.

An easy way out is to refuse to sign any waiver of liability. Polygraph operators always insist that the examinee sign such a form precisely because they know the procedure is not as accurate as they claim it to be. If you refuse to sign a waiver of liability, the polygraph operator will not proceed with the "test."

If you like, the two of you can video call me via FaceTime or Wire and I'll explain at greater length why resorting to polygraphy to make any important decision is a mistake.

On the Control questions. If they are "probable lie" questions should I intentionally lie and use counter measures to skew the results?

bigredboat,

I am a certified polygraph examiner.

Do not -- under any circumstances -- submit to the "test."

Instead, I suggest that your significant other review my web site www.polygraphman.com, paying particular attention to the page entitled "Recommended Reading." Follow the links.

After that, she should call me. (My number is on the Contact page of my web site.)

I'll then be happy to explain the naked truth behind the polygraph "test."

P.S. I believe the polygraph is a bunch of junk non science but I don't have a choice but to take it.

Really now? Honestly, if it were me, I'd use this opportunity to reach into the jar on the mantle over the fireplace, take them out and reattach them and tell her I'm going to Thailand for a month.

Someone made a fake dating profile with my email address and picture. She threw me out of the house and told me I can't come back until I prove I didn't do it. Without notice she calls this morning and informs me I will be taking a polygraph tomorrow at 11 am. I am scared shitless of a false deception reading. I suffer from generalized anxiety disorder, depression, and am being treated for opiate addiction. If I fail this test I'm going to lose everything I own. Help Please!! How can I get these counter measures down in less than 24 hours? Any and all info will help. Thanks.

P.S. I believe the polygraph is a bunch of junk non science but I don't have a choice but to take it. I have read that my personal opinion of the test could cause me to fail?!
