If the background check includes investigators going out and talking randomly to people that knew you, then it might be found out.

Will this commitment show up in a background check for employment with state police? I have called the court that would have the record of my commitment but they said they destroy records after 3 years - my incident happened almost 9 years ago, so they have no record of it at all at the court system. I am worried that the police may have it in their contact records in their computers. Any suggestions?
