I need some serious help with this situation right now. I’m shaking as I’m writing this message.
You can be confident that the answers and advice provided to *Concernedone* above all apply to you also.
In addition, you need to make an appointment with a psychology specialist M.D. or a clergyman. Once you have discussed your emotional baggage with a professional you will no longer feel compelled to discuss it with anyone else.
Never include that embarrassing incident in any application or accompanying statement, and never reveal it to anyone who is not constrained by privilege from revealing your secrets.
And remember: a polygraph examiner is, by job description, the *opposite* of constrained by privilege.

So this just happened to me. In the same situation, happened when I was 12-13 and I’m 31 now. Like an idiot I didn’t read this website or about polygraphs beforehand and didn’t know of bestiality or the crime it was. It happened so long ago, happened only once, and is not any reflection of who I am. Mine would actually be considered bestiality by definition . It was one isolated incident like mentioned above and given all that I didn’t think much of it. It’s was for a Secret Service polygraph and I am nervous out of mind mind now of being prosecuted over something so stupid and ruin my life over something that is so embarrassing and that happened when I was a minor going through puberty. I’m also in the process of becoming an police officer and don’t want this to ruin that opportunity for the rest of my life or my opportunity with any other 3-letter organization.
I am so embarrassed, regretful, disgusted, and scared for himself and my future. I’m really in my head and freaking out right now. Should I be worried?? And if so, why do I need to be prepared for??

A while back when I was probably 12 or 13 maybe younger I was curious and well had my dog lick my privates. It only happened once. Does that mean I have to say yes to bestiality? It really worries me because I want to be a police officer. I am currently 18 and am worried..
Maybe you should try for animal control officer? LOL

To ConcernedOne: Technically you committed a sexual act with an animal, which is illegal in nearly all of the US and most foreign countries. I tend to agree with Arkhangelsk & OldTimer that you should not offer this info and instead put it out of your mind. Guilt might show up on a poly one day, and this is not something you should feel guilty about IF it was just childhood experimentation and you are not sexually attracted to animals. Experimentation is a normal part of growing up. Being sexuallly attracted to animals is a whole other ball game.
To AuntyAgony: Bestiality laws are not based on whether or not the person was aroused, only whether an illegal act was committed as defined by that jurisdiction.

No one will know about this so long as you tell no one. If you volunteer information about this incident, you are likely to be dropped from the hiring process, and your admission may be shared with other agencies/departments.
The polygraph cannot read your mind. It's an interrogator's tool of intimidation, nothing more. Read The Lie Behind the Lie Detector to learn all about it.

Seriously, though, you would only be guilty of the sin of bestiality if you were sexually aroused by the experience and wanted to do it again. And you would only be guilty of the crime of bestiality if (1) there was a law against it in your state, and (2) you were sexually aroused by the experience and actually did do it again.
So don't say yes to bestiality. Listen to Arkhangelsk and forget about it.

Concerned one, It never happened, you just thought it did, but it was a dream. Toss that thought of your head and never think of it again nor tell it to anyone.
