I put the two major things that I have on my application but of course then you start to think about all the stupid things you have ever done... like stealing a $5 eyeliner from the grocery store, or the bag of dog food or box of diapers that you forgot on the bottom of the cart. Do I just ignore those things or divulge them to the investigator?

I am facing a poly test for a job that I really want. I am worried this stupid test will DQ me from employment for stupid things I have done in the past. Nothing major but still... I don't know whether to lie and hope that I still pass or tell the flat out truth and hope that I pass. The job is not for a police officer position but the dept. I will work for is within the police dept in a small town. I have read about the CM's but not sure if I should try them. Any advice?
I will simply implore you to do this - if you have anything you plan to admit, put it on your application, or if you have anything to confess, tell it to the investigator. Please don't give the polygraph operator the satisfaction of bragging about what you told him that they could not have known without him and his magical machine! That is how these polygraph con men justify their existence - by getting you to make admissions to them that you haven't told anyone else!
