Therapists who prescribe polygraphy are guilty of malpractice.

While in couples counseling I took a sexual history polygraph and failed it three times. I was adamant about not being deceptive.  After the third poly my girlfriend decided I would never be honest and left me.

As I continued my therapy, my therapist felt it was important to pass one to allow my him to understand my history and treat me accordingly.  I took the exact same test I took the 3 times before, but with less stress and without a very intense girlfriend anxiously awaiting the results.  I took a xanax and cleared my head.  I was so much more relaxed yet the polygrapher said nerves dont matter. I passed it

Either way, I told the truth 4 times, and passed once.  25% is nowhere good enough for me or anyone else.  The fact that agencies rely on this is so incredibly sad.
