Documents received by AntiPolygraph.org indicate that the relevant questions asked on the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) pre-employment polygraph examination are:

1) Are you withholding information about your involvement with any serious crimes?

2) Are you concealing any illegal drug activity?

3) Are you deliberately falsifying any information on your application forms?

In addition, a sacrifice relevant question along the lines of “Regarding your application process, do you intend to answer each question truthfully?” may be asked.

The PSP has a long list of potential comparison (“control”) questions, only a handful of which will be used. The expected answer to each question is “No.” The blank space in each question is to be filled with a date prior to the examinee’s application for employment. Note the special “control” questions for applicants who are already employed in law enforcement:

Family and Ego:

1. Prior to --------, did you ever do anything dishonest?
2. Before ---------, did you ever do anything unethical?
3. Prior to --------, did you ever do anything bad in your life?
4. Before ---------, did you ever violate any official rules or regulations?
5. Prior to --------, did you ever do anything that you’re ashamed of?
