LASDbs,

While I would agree with Stefano that you should request copies of your polygraph records under the California Public Records Act, I think LASD is unlikely to release copies of your charts to you, much less get them to you within the 10-day limit you have to appeal.

If I were in your shoes, I would file a letter of appeal now, affirming that you told the truth and did not use any polygraph countermeasure.

Ask for copies of the charts so that you can get a second opinion on these "countermeasure issues."

Today I received a letter from LASD stating I was DQ'd from their process. It states the reason as "issues involving countermeasures". It goes on to state that I can appeal within 10 days and I have to demonstrate the factors leading to my my DQ are in error. This was my second polygraph. My first one was inconclusive.

First of all I have no need to use countermeasures. I've led a mostly squeaky clean life minus a few stupid things in high school which I made my BI fully aware of. How am I supposed to appeal something of this nature? If I cannot appeal then I have to wait a year to start this long process all over again AND I get to have this on any other applications I fill out for any other departments.
